MTV Sued over Alleged 'Jersey Shore' Cover-Up

The couple who fought with Ronnie and Sammi on an episode of "Jersey Shore" claims the footage was edited to "cover up" what really happened ... and they have the raw, unedited footage to prove it.

Joshua Thomas and Kristin Perrenod filed a lawsuit today in New Jersey Superior Court, claiming the reality show's producers and MTV edited the famous boardwalk fight "in a manner that was completely inconsistent with what really took place."

The couple claims they have a DVD that contains raw footage from that fateful night -- footage that didn't make the final version of the show -- which shows Ronnie and Sammi were clearly antagonizing the couple by spitting out homophobic slurs and other insults before the incident became violent.

Josh and Kristin are also pissed at MTV because they believe they were "clearly intoxicated" when they signed a release form ... and therefore the waivers shouldn't be considered valid.

The couple is suing MTV, 495 Productions, Viacom, Ronnie and others for an unspecified amount.

1980's Child Star Corey Haim (1971-2010)

The death of former child actor Corey Haim on Wednesday at the age of 38 is a sobering reminder that early stardom is not always a gift. Haim's recent struggles with addiction (and reality TV) were well-publicized, but we prefer to remember him as the sweet, nerdy title character in the 1986 high-school romance Lucas.

And what do fat people do when they get their feelings hurt (other than eat a tub of ice cream) they blame everyone else. Dude, you’re fat. You’re costing tax payers money. And yesterday was the first I had heard of the, “Fat Acceptance League” – Now I’m wondering, is that like the League for Extraordinary Gentlemen, except with fat people?

Howard Stern Replacing Simon Cowell?!

According to Page Six, American Idol producers are eager to hire Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell on the judge’s panel.

Stern’s radio contract is going to expire and he’s looking for a new gig.  One source told Page Six, “It’s one of the few shows that could compete with Stern’s $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and ‘Idol’ bosses think he’d be even nastier than Simon.  They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants. ‘Idol’ will do what it takes to sign him.”
